The Aesthetics of Hybridity

They ascended the hill from Santuario de Chimayo without generating more- more pollution: more sound, more chemicals, more human presence. They left the sacred site differently. The vehicle, though mammoth feeling, weighing more than a ton, moved lightly and gently. It easily rolled up the hill without a sound. They left in awe of its grace. No sound came from its engine. No sound came from its passengers. They listened and paused, feeling their weight moving forward and up together. The quiet air offered space to think and feel, reflect on their experience and encounter without background disturbance. It was a gift.
